SBI Series 1: Singing 101:
You'll discover the first steps in learning how the physical anatomy of the body houses the five elements of the vocal instrument and how to use each one. You'll find out the greatest enemies of the voice and how to avoid them.
Next, you'll move on to proper breathing techniques to improve pitch control and endurance, and to make lifestyle choices that will help keep your voice in good shape.
You will also learn a simple warm-up method to help you sing with greater freedom and expressiveness.
No pre-requisites, for beginners to advanced singers.
SBI Series 2: Basic Ear Training:
You will build upon the lessons from Series 1. Use simple exercises exploring popular songs to train yourself to hear and identify the harmonies, rhythms, and structures. You will also learn to how to use scales to sing on pitch so you can sing more accurately and with less effort.
Explore the vocal placement of "the three voices" of the body: how to resonate sound to different locations to add sonic color, texture and emotional content.
You will also learn how to use your voice properly so that you can sing for a lifetime without risking injury to yourself or your voice.
Pre-requisite: SBI Series 1
SBI Series 3: Creating YOUR sound.
You will master the techniques learned in the two previous series building upon practice routines, vocal improvisation exercises and performance techniques.
You'll also learn how to study other singers from many genres to unlock the secrets of their vocal techniques and how you can incorporate them to create your own unique sound.
You'll make your voice more powerful, expand your range and expression and become more confident in vocal performances.

This program was developed by Anastasia Gilliam in order to sustain her vocal endurance and maintain overall health to meet the demands of her hectic performance schedule. (Performing up to 5 shows a week, 3 to 4 hours per show for over 20 years).
